Provided strategic communications counsel to executives, corporate departments and business units to support communication efforts for 87,000 employees worldwide. Developed and implemented communication strategies that informed, educated, motivated and engaged employees in regard to the company’s business objectives. Before Con-way was acquired, I established a Corporate Communications department, including a new organizational structure and process workflow. Directed a team of in-house designers, writers and coordinators in support of employee communications, marketing strategies, key company events, recruiting and engagement. Managed corporate brand standards and compliance. Maintained corporate-level communication calendars, channels and tools (e.g., corporate website, intranet, email, social media, etc.).

Primarily responsible for developing business-specific communications materials and high-value messaging targeted for key audiences through effective communication channels. Responsible for analyzing, planning, writing, editing, distributing, managing and monitoring a broad range of communications projects, materials and content across a variety of venues and platforms that was engaging, accurate and relevant.

Managed clients ranging from large fortune 500s to small non-profits. Executed project goals and marketing strategy to ensure client needs were reflected. Engaged in all parts of website projects, from inception, to information design, to visual design, to production and launch. Partnered with art directors to create marketing materials, reinforcing company brands. Managed multi-thousand dollar budgets and ensured timelines were met.

Managed project schedules, developed quarterly media plans, and prepared communication materials for seven divisions in California and Arizona. My team was responsible for increasing JD Power scores in Phoenix from 5.3% to 8.25% in six months. Led creative meetings and edited ad layouts, handouts, brochures and other marketing materials. Supervised two coordinators engaged in the development of advertising, media insertions and press releases.

Directed in-house graphic designer in the creation of marketing materials. Created copy for various newsletters and websites as needed. Established and maintained relationships with media to publish press releases. Managed four client accounts to arrange for successful placement in television, radio, and print media.
