We are GlobalNet a telecommunication company who’s provide backbone network operator services all over the world.Remote IX - access to the world’s largest IPXs on Earth.My responsibilities are:Executing physical equipment deployments, RMA process, deliveries as well as a operational support Engineer.I cover whole AMS - Installing switches and Servers on locations - maintain our own infrastructure.Working with CIENA Waveserver 5 and Familie 6500 on daily basis - Darkfiber.DWDW circuits with wavelengths up 800 Gbit/s in most PoPs

In this challenging role, I work as a Data Centre Technician in an operational shift coverage model (24x7x365 within the highest level of security and operational Excellence. As a Datacenter Technician I provide remote hands support Tier 1 to support the VZ product range of Managed Hosting, Cloud Services and Co-location. Executing physical equipment deployments, RMA process, deliveries as well as operational support of international dispersed Tier 2 & 3 operations teams in managed hosting and platform services Implementation.My responsibilities are:Configuring Routers/Switches and Servers and get them ready for installation on location.My task has been grown in these years as I am testing 10/100G circuits for all our Customers.Providing remote hands support to Tier 2 and 3 teams to address operational tickets within agreed or better than customer contracted SLA’s. Perform the physical implementation of customer equipment across the product lines.Deploy and document the Verizon’s common DC operational standards in conjunction with Operational teams, Professional Services and Engineering.Ensure Customers and 3rd party vendors are supported and managed within the DC and that they adhere to rules and regulations for H&S as well as operational excellence.Comply to the Verizon standards in Physical Security, Capacity planning and Cabling.Proactively detect and report to management any operational threats.

Network Datacenter Engineer at TelecityGroup Amsterdam.As a Network Datacenter Engineer I was the representative of the company. I installed fiber and copper connections in a secured environment and make sure that these connections would be handed over to the customers. I performed all work in accordance of the procedures and report incidents in accordance with the agreed procedures.An additional important task is documenting all information in the systems, as example a service ticket that I have been working on or it could be tasks that I have completed for a customer. On a daily basis I reported events to the site supervisor or manager. My other responsibilities were 1st and 2nd line support, maintaining relationships with clients, installing their network / server equipment when I received them into the datacenter. I was also working in the NOC as a Core Engineer on an operational shift coverage model (24x7x365 within the shift schedule, these shifts were during the day, evening or night. During these shifts I was the responsible Engineer to monitor all active circuits of customers and to inform ICT department, facilities or Site manager in case of emergencies related to the TelecityGroup infrastructure. Lastly I would like to explain that I have always prevent that confidential information will never get into unauthorized hands.
