I came to Continuum as an Oracle eBusiness suite DBA. During the time I have been there in addition to the Oracle DBA role where I am supporting the developers in customizing supply chain and accounts payable functionality. I have installed and configured testing and QA software such as HP Quality center , LoadRunner and Quicktest Pro. I have also installed and configured HP project & Portfolio manager.

I came onto this client to work on the functional side of an Oracle eBusiness suite GL implementation to coordinate between the developers and the DBA's after that implementation was complete and stable I moved to the DBA team where I worked on an upgrade of another eBusiness suite upgrade from 11.03 to 11.5.10.2. This upgrade involved new hardware as well as an upgrade of all major components of the software. After that upgrade was finished I was involved in supporting these systems as well as many new releases and patches to the environments. I also supported the ongoing development efforts on both systems, by providing DBA support, cloning, and a stable environment to work in.

At DDI I joined a small MIS team for the E Systems delivery department. In this team I was brought in as an Oracle/SQL2000 DBA but the job quickly expanded to Network Admin, Windows System administration and, Linux Systems Administration also. We were tasked with support of all the E systems applications and databases. Along with supporting the QA team and rebuilding the QA lab and delevoping a datawarehouse using Oracle Grid technology.

At JNL I was brought in to work as a support DBA in a heterogeneous database environment. The systems are a mix of Sybase, UDB/DB2, OS390/DB2, Oracle, and SQL2000. I was brought in to ease the workload of the full time DBA staff by supporting all these environments. My responsibilities included Performance tuning, backup & recovery, work orders, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.

At ISC I was brought in to manage to infrastructure for the iNet system. iNet is an AIX/DB2 based neuro network that tracks gas detection equipment and predicts when the instrument is going to fail so that ISC can perform proactive maintenance to assure maximum uptime for the client as the optimum cost for ISC. In this position I act as an AIX System administrator, DB2 DBA, WebSphere administrator, and Web-master.

At NGIT I was brought in to design and implement a replication strategy between three distributed applications running on three separate RDBMS's (Sybase, Oracle and Non-stop SQL). I was also responsible for general support of the Database platforms used by the developers.

At WWRE I work as the Database Architect as well as their physical DBA. I lead a team of Oracle, DB2, and SQL2000 DBA's spread over 3 sites that are responsible for maintaining WWRE's B2B systems as well as there financial systems. My responsibilities include database design and implementation, performance tuning, backup & recovery and DR.

I worked at Verizon in the UNIX System Services, System Configuration Engineering group as well as the Database engineering Group. My responsibilities were 40% Oracle DBA, 25% Sybase DBA, 25% MS-SQL DBA, and 25% UNIX SA/Architect, they included designing coding and overseeing the implementation of Maintenance programs and procedures for all Database systems under USS control (over 800 servers). I was also responsible for developing and enforcing the USS infrastructure standards. I maintained the Kerberos authentication and security systems. In this position I worked with UNIX hardware and OS environment, Oracle, Sybase, SAN infrastructures, High availability as well as Fault tolerance and load balancing. I also spent time certifying Veritas quick IO and BMC patrol for the database engineering group as well as certifying Fiber cards to be used in the SAN environment.

which I was brought in to help establish an Oracle environment as well as serve as production support for performance & tuning, Backups, system recovery and maintenance. I also worked as a Sybase DBA for multiple Sybase systems. In the course of my duties I also took up a few MS-SQL projects where I served as a development DBA as well as a production support DBA. In this position I was 50% Oracle DBA, 25% Sybase DBA, and 25% MS-SQL DBA.

During my contract with Bell Atlantic I worked as the technical lead for the Distributed Systems Database Engineering team. This team was responsible for the development and maintenance of extremely large databases, including a 300 Gigabyte Sybase system, and a 7 Terabyte Oracle system. As technical lead, along with my responsibilities for planning, and overseeing the team's objectives, I was responsible for designing, coding, and implementation of all Database maintenance procedures, developing Monitoring procedures, Performance & tuning of the systems on all levels, and backup & recovery of all systems. I oversaw training to the other six DBA's team members. My job was 50% Oracle DBA, 30% Sybase DBA, and 20% MS-SQL DBA.

At Mayo I worked as a Sybase/Oracle DBA in clinical applications area as production support. I work as part of a team of DBA's and UNIX Systems Administrators that support over 300 databases spread across 15 Sybase Servers and 5 Oracle servers running on a mixture of HP-UX and Solaris platforms. We support around 200 developers on over 50 separate applications along with supporting a user base of over 15,000 users in 5 sites. The databases range in size from as small as 30 Megabytes to around 50 Gigabytes. My responsibilities in this group include performance & tuning, Developer support, production support and backups & recovery. I was brought in to help fill a void left by employee turnover until the client could hire a replacement. My job at Mayo was 70% Sybase DBA 20% Oracle DBA, and 10% MS-SQL DBA

At Research Genetics I worked as a Sybase DBA and UNIX System Admin in the Informatics department. I was involved in migrating the current systems to Sybase version 11.5 and then to version 11.9.2 on an RS/6000 running AIX. I was also involved in performance & tuning of the database Servers as well as the UNIX platforms, Setting up Netscape E-mail servers, Writing Perl and ksh scripts to manage the systems and installing various GNU and IBM commercial software.

At Koch Industries I was brought in to work as an Oracle DBA supporting Development projects as well as production for the Energy, Agriculture, and Materials business units. During the course of these projects I also took on some development projects as a data modeler and DBA using Sybase, Sybase SQLAnywhere, and Microsoft SQL Server. I also designed and implemented a replication architecture for Koch Agriculture using Sybase Replication server and SQLRemote Message based replication.

At CommEd I was brought in to work a short term performance & tuning contract for there billing system that was running on Oracle 7.3.4 on a Solaris system. The tuning was limited to instance, atabase, and OS levels because the database structure and queries were a vendor canned package. Through this effort I increased the average transaction time for the system by 22%.
