PhD in the Molecular Pharmacology group (Prof. dr. Laura H. Heitman) at the Leiden Academic Centre of Drug Research, Leiden University with joined supervision by prof. M van der Stelt (Leiden University).I focused on studying novel drug discovery concepts, such as drug-target binding kinetics, biased signaling and allosteric modulation, which may provide a more accurate translational perspective. I applied these concepts to the cannabinoid CB2 receptor, a promising target for the treatment of tissue injury and inflammation.This research was supported by the Dutch Research Council (NWO, Vidi #16573). To this end, we regularly met and discussed with experts in the field (at Leiden University, Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, Janssen) as part of the User Committee.
