I am looking for work in Training and Learning Design. For three years, I have worked with JP Morgan Chase & Co as a Learning Media Project Execution Specialist, creating training content for their Identity & Access Management division. This has involved working with Subject Matter Experts to craft videos, documentation, and presentations designed to assist users in navigating systems involving authentication of identity and authorization of access. I utilized a diverse array of production tools in this capacity, including Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Synthesia AI Edit/Player, Articulate Storyline, various Techsmith tools (e.g. SnagIt, Camtasia) and Adobe Photoshop. I also assisted the IAM Communications department by supporting them with Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion content, Gartner webinar notifications, and training material from third-party vendors such as Pluralsight, Udemy, and DataCamp. I assisted in designing and maintaining the Learning Media Team website as well.I am a former adjunct professor at the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa and a former public school teacher in Hernando County. I earned my PhD in English Literature in 2016. My area of specialty is British Literature of the late 18th to late Victorian period, with a focus on post-colonialism, African Literature (particularly Chinua Achebe), and African-American Literature of the United States. I enjoy teaching and academic research, but I am currently considering a career outside of public education.I have taught Composition I & II, Expository Writing, Introduction to Literature, and Introduction to Poetry. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for courses in Twentieth-Century Literature, the Bible as Literature (New Testament), Literature and the Occult, and Film and Culture.Specialties: My Master's thesis was on Gothic Literature of the 1790's, specifically Anne Radcliffe, Matthew Lewis, and their reactionary Gothic depiction in the wake of the French Revolution of the Spanish Inquisition (reviving the "Black Legend" of Catholicism in later British and American literature, particularly Poe). My dissertation was on the transformation of the novel of development (the bildungsroman) from Victorian England to English-speaking former colonies (e.g. Jamaica, the United States, Nigeria, etc), demonstrating how colonized nations experiment with syncretic identities and cultures through an imagined composite family history.
