Watson Library is the heart of research and scholarship at The Met, and is open to the public. With holdings of more than one million volumes, Watson is one of the largest and most comprehensive art libraries in the world.Primary responsibilities:• Lead and manage Watson's collection development team;• Select publications for acquisition;• Develop programs to assess and expand diversity and inclusivity in the Met library collections;• Increase awareness, discoverability, and use of the library’s collections through programs, presentations, publications and social media.

Primary responsibilities:• Selecting Russian, Slavic, and rare materials for acquisition;• Creating bibliographic records through original and copy cataloging for Russian, Slavic, and select European and English language materials;• Coordinating cataloging and processing of Russian, Slavic, and rare materials by Watson staff, interns, and volunteers;• Providing reference assistance and research support to Museum staff and visitors;• Increasing awareness, discoverability, and use of the library’s special and Slavic collections through publications, presentations, programs, and social media;• Collaborating with the Chief Librarian to cultivate, secure, and facilitate donations;• Managing Watson’s special collections, working collaboratively with conservation, cataloging, technical services, and circulation staff to ensure that storage, housing, handling, security, and physical access practices and policies meet industry-wide standards;• Coordinating special collections inventory, analysis, and assessment projects.
