I'm a software engineer who is passionate about reducing climate change through effective software. I have experience with creating mobile applications, Windows applications, web development, authoring custom tools, task automation, deploying services to Cloud or virtual machines, designing databases, and developing educational software. I've been developing software since 1992, initially on a Commodore 64 PET on which I taught myself QBASIC by creating text-based games; my first programs all saved on audio cassette tapes. I've had a strong desire to learn about software development ever since, learning every language I've needed for a task. I was a US civil servant for the Department of the Treasury for fifteen years, but left to pursue my MSc in Algorithms, Data Analysis and Machine Learning at the University of Helsinki in Finland. I am currently a software engineer at RTChex, a logistics and inventory management system for the petroleum industry that aims to reduce paper usage and waste; at which I am a founding developer.I'm not currently looking for employment, and the only job offers I'd consider are those directly involved in carbon sequestration, advancing renewable energy, or other pursuits related to addressing global climate change.
