Traffic Operations Center Supervisor
Originally hired by a company named Telvent, but was bought by Schneider Electric. Contracted by the Iowa Department of Transportation to run their statewide traffic operations center. I supervised the daily operations of the 1st shift operators (6am to 2:30pm). The TOC operates the dynamic message signs on the interstate system in the state of Iowa. The TOC monitors cctv cameras, on wireless modems or fiber, and speed sensors across the state to proactively identify roadway issues. The TOC also updates the 511 website with road information.

Inspected ITS deployments (Intelligent Transportation Systems), analyzed crash data & created maps utilizing GIS software, participated in traffic incident management planning meetings, assisted in managing emergency relief efforts in coordination with the FHWA, reviewed RFP bids, attended face-to-face meetings & conference calls, ran a webinar, & wrote memos.
