As an associate scientist for the metabolite ID division of Merck’s pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and drug metabolism group, I am responsible for a variety of research efforts: - Conduct various in vitro incubations in both hepatocytes and liver microsomes in rats, mice, canines, rhesus and cyno monkeys, and humans including introducing robotic automation to the assay. Experience generating protocols and maintaining robot to perform compound transfers, aliquoting hepatocytes, adding quench solution to samples, and transferring into LC-MS injection plates for analysis. - Acquire samples on various LC-HRMS instruments including Waters Xevo G1, G2, Synapt G2, and AB Sciex 6600 Triple TOF mass spectrometers with method development experience. - Process standard in vitro metid data with MassMetaSite software and upload data to WebMetaBase platform. Experience generating protocols to analyze both data from MSe and SWATH acquisitions. Trained various higher level scientists to use aforementioned platforms.- Conduct various in vivo radiolabeled bile duct cannualated (BDC) studies in rats using 14C and 3H radioisotopes. - Experience using liquid scintillation counters, LAURA software for generating metabolite radioprofiles, and Beta-RAM technology for LC-HRMS radiometric analysis.- Experience performing fraction collection using LEAP probe technology. - Perform wipe tests for the metid group. - Frontline scientist to establish metabolic stability intrinsic clearance (MSIC) assay coupled with profiling metabolites for quantitative-qualitative analysis on several LC-HRMS instruments in a sub 5 minute LC run.- Experience using electronic laboratory notebooks and generating experiment templates for MetID group usage. - Communicate with all members of group and facilitate efficient analysis of given samples.

• Experience with LC-MS method development, method validation, and sample analysis for small molecule bioanalysis. • Proficient in the use of Watson LIMS 7.4.2 for GLP study sample entry, tracking, analytical run generation, and data processing.• Proficient in Analyst 1.4.2 and 1.6.2.• Experience with operational use and troubleshooting of API 4000, AB Sciex 4000 QTrap and 5500 triple quadrupole mass spectrometers.• Experience with HPLC operation and preventative maintenance. • Train other bioanalytical chemists in performing protein precipitation and liquid-liquid extraction assays and laboratory operations/documentation.• Communicate with clientele regarding sample disposal.• Managed receiving, documentation, and handling of GLP-related analytical standards for company’s bioanalysis group.• Experience with both non-GLP and GLP studies including matters of regulatory compliance.• Calibrated and performed preventative maintenance regarding laboratory centrifuges and evaporators. • Familiar working with a variety of biological matrices including plasma to tissue samples such as liver, colon, heart, brain, kidney, thyroid, choroid plexus, and spleen from humans, rats, mice and canines.• Familiar with sample receiving/tracking, data processing, report writing, and maintaining general lab organization.

I was responsible for tutoring various high school students with honors general chemistry. Topics included stoichiometry, period table trends, electrochemistry, thermochemistry, kinetics, gases, solubility, nuclear chemistry, intermolecular forces, and acids and bases. Improved students grades and overall confidence in work capabilities and in the course.
