Spanning the gamut from commercials to interactive, animation to scripted entertainment, I've led interdisciplinary teams from small to big, from ideation to delivery, with budgets from boot-strapped to multi-millions.

Launched a custom VFX/CGI production studio for the creation of photo-real digital human characters. Led and recruited a worldwide team of artists, software devs, IT in the creation of technology and art pipelines for CG content creation.

From classic musicals to sci-fi to animation, the yearly Summit Kickoff event blends original music, parody, dance, pyrotechnics and video, paying cheeky homage to pop-culture touchstones including “Back to the Future”, “Grease”, Pixar films, “The Greatest Showman” and iconic musical experiences dedicated to 90's boy-bands, and rock pioneers Queen.

Disneyland has been taken hostage by an unruly band of pirates, and it’s up to you to use your trusty spyglass (mobile phone) to reveal their secret plans, hone your media literacy skills, and restore harmony and meaning to the Magic Kingdom. Designed to foster critical thinking and media literacy skills by deconstructing implicit messages, history and processes embedded in the Disneyland theme park experience.

Designed as an interactive extension of the Computer History Museum, The Tessera is an alternate reality game about a mysterious collective of historically significant innovators known as “The Tessera” who are being hunted by a destructive force known as “S.” Lead by the ghost of computing pioneer Ada Lovelace, players attempt to navigate real-world and online computational thinking puzzles before "S" can stop them.Players navigate real-world and online computational thinking puzzles with the help of the spirits of these famous thinkers who are trying to save everything from the forces of entropy.

DUST is a alternate reality gaming experience that centers on the mysterious collapse of adults worldwide who fall into a coma-like state following a cataclysmic meteor shower. Following the story through a series of interactive motion comics and online experiences, real-life players “hack” into NASA research databases and engage in collaborative play and inquiry across multiple media platforms--to save the world.In conjunction with leading educators, astronomers, and NASA scientists, and university students on both sides of the country, Western Lights Studio developed DUST, an educational Alternate Reality Game (ARG) for middle school and early high school students. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation, DUST gives teens the opportunity to learn and apply STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) principles in formal and informal settings.ARGs are multi-platform interactive games that blur the lines between digital fiction and real-life player experiences. Designed with teens (utilizing teen co-designers in development) for teens, DUST immerses players in a rich, collaborative storyworld that requires them to solve a mystery by applying principles of scientific inquiry. Foundational concepts from astronomy, biology, and engineering are tied to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Tasked with taking a local college comedy troupe from campus stage to prime time television, Western Lights developed, produced and directed the pilot episode, and launched the first season of what has become the flagship cable & digital series for BYUtv. Passing 3 billion YouTube subscribers, the series has racked up nearly 3 billion views on YouTube alone, creating a new generation of die-hard family audiences that tune in each week for laughs.

I entered the brave new world of transmedia storytelling in 2008, co-creating a transmedia story called The Book of Jer3miah. The no-budget suspense-thriller won praise from The New York Times as “a tight, suspenseful little series” with “quick dialogue, funny supporting characters...an engaging piece of new media.” The show was also honored by the Webby Awards alongside big budget shows from HBO, MTV, and ABC-Disney. In addition to its 20 webisodes, The Book of Jer3miah featured an immersive Alternate Reality Game, complete with digital and “analog” backstory, and clues hidden in and around real-world locations. The series was released nationally on digital platforms in 2012 with ane expanded novelization released in spring 2013.

Wrote the teleplay for "The Nth Sector", a 30-minute drama about the egotistical host of a 50's sci-fi show who has his own encounter with the supernatural when a new director takes over his show. Also worked in post-production as an editor. "The Nth Sector" won 3 Telly Awards, one of which was Best Editing
