Education Services Specialist
Current- Schedules and conducts counseling and advisement sessions for military members, spouses, dependents, and DOD civilians daily. Provides customers with advisement and instruction related to post-secondary education programs, to include financial aid. - Facilitates education transition program, assisting military members as they transition out of military service and into higher education and civilian career paths. - Assists with training of new employees, helping them quickly gain proficiency in new tasks.- Provides exceptional customer service and is often lauded through interactive customer service feedback system. - Provides 100+ professional briefings annually in a variety of venues both in and outside of primary duty location for groups of individuals, ranging from less than 10 to 100+. - Conducts professional research relating to post-secondary education, military regulations, and other subject areas pertinent to customer needs. Distills information and drafts professional communication as necessary. - Excels at both oral and written communication, understanding well the importance of interpersonal interaction and non-verbal communication as it relates to customer service and team synergy. - Consults with outside organizations to coordinate outreach efforts that expand upon existing education information efforts. - Manages $100,000+ worth of information technology assets as information technology equipment custodian. Maintains 100% accountability of assets with 0 discrepancies noted in annual inspection.
