About Jared Coon
I am a dedicated worker to any job that I receive and see it to completion, and when I am finished I will be asking, “What needs to be done next?” My love of fermentation is not limited to just wine, I also brew beer and make my own mead at home. I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge in the profession. In particular, I would like to broaden my knowledge in the process of making Pinot Noir and Port as well as biodynamic/organic vineyard management techniques. I am keen to learn the whole process of winemaking, from vine to glass by seeking out positions that will aid in my goal and hopefully take me around the world. Throughout my work history, I have learned to be well organized and resourceful as well as a quick learner with the ability to adapt to new challenges. I am looking to gain more experience working in the cellar and learn the idiosyncrasies of each winery I am able to work in. I enjoy the hard work and variety of tasks that being in the cellar has to offers, especially punchdowns and dig outs.
