EWB is an organization focused on supporting community-driven development programs worldwide through the design and implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while fostering responsible leadership.Through continued involvement with the EWB-LA chapter, including traveling as the lead on Assessment and Implementation trips to Tanzania, I was able to enjoy an enriching experience following the EWB mission statement and helping communities worldwide. Leading the effort as President, the project experiences we gained from traveling were showcased and presented to organizations/colleges across LA in efforts to grow our chapter. With the resulting increase in member involvement were able to expand our project base, not only continuing our efforts to establish sustainable sources of drinking water for the Village of Ipalamwa within the County of Tanzania, but also expanding to include an additional Sanitation Project in Guatemala.

Section head over the Engineering Unit at Imperial Yard: Managing a team of 6 engineers responsible for all engineering projects, plan reviews, and facilities within the Los Angeles County Flood Control District South Area jurisdiction (Malibu to Long Beach). These facilities vary from the large and very visible major channels (Los Angeles River, San Gabriel River, Ballona Creek, etc), the vast underground network of storm drains crisscrossing the county, our Pump Stations providing flood relief at low points throughout, Low Flow Diversion standing as our last line of defense diverting dry-weather nuisance flows into the sewer system, the Debris Basins strategically located at the base of various canyons catching sediment flows from large storms, and Seawater Barriers providing an injected water wall to keep seawater from intruding into the fresh water aquifers
