Kansas City District Safety Office (Remote From Truman Lake Project Office)

Serve as Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, and have served temporarily as Safety Chief (manager) for the US Army Kansas City District Safety Office. I provide safety and occupational health program and policy updates, safety guidance and expertise, site safety assessments, and mishap investigation and reporting for the Kansas City District. The Kansas City District is comprised of a district office, 18 multipurpose lake projects, resident engineer construction offices such as at Fort Leonard Wood and Fort Riley Army Bases, Whiteman Airforce Base, the National Geospatial West Intelligence Agency, and regulatory offices across 4 states. The Safety Office provides support to all offices and the approximate 1000 employees of the Kansas City District.

Harry S. Truman Lake Project And Power Plant

Serve as the locations Safety Officer, establishing and implementing the project safety program and ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations. Ensure the project and power plant remains in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations in regards to the management of: Hazardous Materials; Hazardous Waste; Pesticides; Air Emissions; Wastewater; Solid Waste; Water Quality; Storage Tank; Toxic Substances; Petroleum Oils and Lubricants; Cultural Resources; Natural Resources; and other Environmental Issues. Multi-agency workgroup lead tasked with ensuring dam operations maintain downstream water quality levels such as Dissolved oxygen levels to stay within limits that sustain healthy fisheries.

Stockton Lake Project; Pomme De Terre Lake Project; And Long Branch Lake Project.

Duties included: Collateral Duty Safety Officer and Environmental Compliance Coordinator. Natural Resource Management involving management of agricultural leases and wildlife food plot development, coordination of managed hunts, assistance with timber harvests, fish habitat improvement projects, monitoring of invasive species, and providing outreach programs to the public; Recreation Management included oversight of campground improvement projects, supervision of park ranger and maintenance staff, training of park staff, and providing patrol and enforcement of the US Code of Federal Regulations Title 36; Shoreline Management to include boundary line surveillance for encroachments, boat dock and pathway permitting and compliance inspections, and cultural resource protection.

Rosecrans Airforce National Guard Base, Missouri

Provided support in water purification missions and sanitation site construction during base build up. Member of the NBC (Nuclear Biological & Chemical) defense readiness team. Maintained and serviced various base utilities.

Missouri National Guard, And One Deployment To Iraq

Served as the Nuclear Biological and Chemical Defense (NBC or CBRN). Mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from March of 2003 to August of 2004. Maintained NBC defense equipment, served as the sole NBC defense company level trainer, assisted unit logistics operations and communications during the deployment.
