I led the Commission team that wrote the Wealth Transfers and their Economic Effects research paper released in December 2021. The report seeks to fill a gap in the research literature by creating a fact base on wealth transfer behaviour in Australia.The report provides information about how much wealth Australians transfer while they are alive (gifts) and after they die (inheritances), how wealth transfers affect those who receive them, and the impact of wealth transfers on the distribution of wealth in society now, and in the future.

The team’s core objective is to keep the Prime Minister aware of complex and potentially fast moving emerging issues in the Australian and global economies.

During my time in the Office of the Chief Economist at IP Australia i produced applied economic analysis and briefing for senior management on topics including modelling the economic impact of trade agreements, productivity analysis, foreign direct investment and cost-benefit analysis of agency policy initiatives. I also worked on a major restructure of in-house data systems reform.

I was hired as a 2010 Treasury graduate. I worked in the Industry, Environment and Defence Division in Fiscal Group between 2010 and 2011 on a variety of Cabinet submissions and policy briefs. I also worked in the Domestic Economy Division in the Macroeconomic group from November 2011. I produced forecasts for housing investment and consumption and also worked in the National Accounts forecasting frameworks team.
