I have more than four years of experience working directly with adolescents and young adults who are in need. I continue to work with this population because the work is so rare, interesting, and rewarding. I have helped keep these kids alive, helped prepare them for a future by teaching them to go beyond their past traumas, and I've modeled appropriate behaviors at all times. Before I took my current job working at the Job Corps. Center in Excelsior Springs, MO, I worked for KVC Health Systems, and I worked as a Substitute Teacher and School Counseling Intern in schools around The Greater Kansas City Area. For six years, I have worked directly with students of all ages and many cultural backgrounds. In my time working at different schools, I made students smile, I taught them things they didn't know, I made them feel safe, and I guided them in the direction of positive growth. It would seem that Adolescents receive me to be competent and take heed to my suggestions. I believe they are making a good decision whenever students put their trust in me, because I have spent over a decade studying human behavior-related information and I have experienced a lot of what life throws at us first-hand. With a School Counselors Certificate for both MO and KS and with an LPC in KS, I want to be in a position where I can affect as many people in a positive way as possible.
