I am a software engineering enthusiast. I am excited about designing and building software in ways that ensure quality, correctness, and agility. The Software Crisis is still looming. Though the software industry doesn't lack defined and accepted standards and best practices, many companies don't do a great job of utilizing them, resulting in systems that are not well understood, not adaptable, and not easily duplicable. Quality is generally not a given and software is usually closer to a work of art than it is to a bridge or airplane.I want to do my part to help the software industry burgeon into an engineering driven field; whether that is through mentoring, leadership, teaching, or evangelizing software engineering principles. I believe that if more companies embraced and followed software engineering practices, we could transform the expectations of software users away from "bugs and blue screens are a way of life."
