Internship Experience at Machete Group: Combining My Passions for Real Estate and Sports Management... My journey with Machete Group began in the Fall of 2023 as an intern. I was immediately drawn to the company's unique focus, which perfectly merged my two passions: commercial real estate and sports management. My main objective during the internship was to analyze the mixed-use real estate market in the sports industry. This involved delving into various professional and collegiate teams across different sports and leagues. Leveraging my knowledge of real estate, I was able to contribute meaningfully by:- Researching existing mixed-use developments: This helped me understand how different teams have successfully incorporated retail, dining, residential, and office spaces into their venues, creating vibrant and engaging environments for fans and residents alike.- Analyzing projects in the early stages of planning and development: This provided valuable insights into the strategies teams are employing to scale their brands and generate additional revenue through ancillary means. This research proved to be incredibly enlightening. It allowed me to:- Identify successful and unsuccessful projects: By examining both triumphs and failures, I gained valuable insights into the factors that contribute to the success of mixed-use developments in the sports industry.- Understand the rationale behind different deal structures: This deepened my understanding of the complex financial considerations involved in these projects. I am incredibly grateful to David Carlock and the entire team at Machete Group for providing me with this invaluable opportunity. Their guidance and support were instrumental in my learning and growth.

During my summer internship at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), I gained invaluable experience in commercial real estate capital markets. I supported analysts and directors in both debt placement and investment sales, gaining insights into the intricate processes and nuances of each asset type.I leveraged my upbringing in commercial real estate to meticulously execute due diligence procedures, craft offering memoranda and flyers, facilitate client communication, and delve into underwriting practices. This hands-on involvement equipped me with an extensive understanding of the diverse assumptions underpinning every transaction.I adeptly navigated both sides of the field, contributing to the debt division while simultaneously immersing myself in investment sales activities. This multifaceted experience significantly enriched my comprehension of the capital markets landscape.

Using my love and knowledge of sports, I am supporting the team at Pokatok in any way I can. While we are currently working to unveil one of the largest sports festivals in the World, I am conducting research, content creation and event planning to aid in this process.

- Joined Blast Motion in October of 2020 to gain some insight and experience into the sales world. My role was as a Sales Intern in the Texas Region Sales group, along with a few fellow students at Rice University. - Blast Motion develops a Swing Analysis sensor that uses cutting-edge technology to deliver a breakdown and statistical analysis of one's swing. Each and every swing is recorded and offers information such as the rate of connection, time spent with the bat in the zone, angular velocity, bat speed, and path of a hitter's hands. - Using our knowledge of Baseball, as well as our communication skills, we contacted Programs that were connected with us through the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (THBCA). Our goal was to identify the challenges these coaches and programs have when looking to increase their hitters' success. We then looked to connect through our passion for baseball and to initiate interest and a desire for the Sensor and the subscription to our services.

I worked as a Field Project Manager for NPH for about two to three months. Wanted to familiarize myself with the family business and develop myself in the Industrial Real Estate business. A great amount of progress achieved within the projects that I was associated with and many lessons that I learned along the way that have helped increase my overall knowledge of the business.

Speed Shore is a company focused on manufacturing trench safety equipment for use during construction, specifically in the digging of trenches. My job was in assembly working on piecing together parts for our final product.
