Electrical Engineer of Record for C&I battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar PV, and EV charging (LV2 AC, DCFC Supercharger, Semi Charger) projects.BESS projects include full-site retrofit microgrid systems for critical facilities (e.g., municipal, educational) and Supercharger sites, peak-shaving designs, off-grid systems, and utility BESS production augmentation designs. BESS design capacity range from 300kVA to 5MW using Megapack 1, Megapack 2, Megapack 2XL, Powerpack 2, Powerpack 3.Solar PV projects include microgrid, off-grid, and utility interactive systems ranging in capacity from 100kW to 6MW. PV designs include Supercharger canopy, C&I rooftop (traditional modules and Tesla Solar Roof), as well as utility scale ground-mount systems.EV charging designs include LV2 AC charging, DCFC Supercharger (V3, V4, PSU) and Semi Charger projects as large as 84 Supercharger posts, requiring 8MW of service capacity. Designs include new construction and existing site retrofits comprised of airport and retail parking garages, car rental facilities, gas stations, utility-dense city lots, and multi-residence locations.Additional job functions include:Working with equipment vendors to review and custom build switchboards, switchgear, panelboards, breaker retrofits for automated electrical operation, transformers (step-up/down, isolation, zig-zag grounding), line reactors, relays and various monitoring/metering instrumentation.Coordinating with and mentoring designers and drafters to provide complete electrical engineering construction plans and specifications.Coordinating with product design and applications engineers to ensure NEC compliance and provide product improvement feedback for new products including V3 and V4 Superchargers, V3 and V4 Pre-assembled Supercharger Units (PSUs), Megapack2 and Megapack2 XL, Cyber Canopy.Use SKM to provide arc flash analysis and labels, OCPD coordination and settings, as well as conductor/duct bank ampacity studies.

Oversee all aspects of the electrical design process including project budget, project management, utility coordination, power engineering design, emergency lighting design, equipment selection and review, and construction administration. Designs include custom residential, commercial, theater, resort, educational, government, agricultural, farm, renewable energy, energy storage, micro-grid, and off-grid applications. Structural design includes full engineering design and construction administration for custom residential, straw-bale, and commercial applications.

Perform project development and management, engineering and system design, crew supervision and installation for large scale solar energy projects ranging in size from 20kW to 1MW. Experienced with Community Solar Garden and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for town, government and school district contracts.Provide project development designs utilizing AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop. Provide engineering designs in accordance with the NEC and local AHJ.

Perform all management and design aspects regarding solar and wind energy system installations.Duties include site analysis, system design, permitting, construction administration, installation, and project management.Solar energy systems are grid-tied, fully off-grid, roof mounted or ground mounted, ranging in size from 3kW to 550kW.

Perform residential and commercial installations for both grid-tied and off-grid solar energy systems. Typical designs include roof mounted and pole mounted systems.

Perform system layout and installation in accordance with the NEC for residential and commercial solar energy projects ranging in size from 3 kW to 175 kW. Install various solar energy systems including Unirac-SolarMount, DPW, SRS, SolarFrame, and custom stand-offs on shingle, rubber, and concrete-tile roofs. Complete DC, AC and inverter system wiring. Familiar with SMA, Fronius, Outback and enphase inverter systems.

Engineered and managed a variety of structural projects with scope of work including proposal development, budget management, structural analysis and design, clientele progress and development meetings, construction administration and special structural inspections. Performed structural analysis and design for various new and renovated commercial buildings including educational facilities, airports, military facilities, and courthouses constructed of steel, masonry, concrete, and wood. Performed special structural inspection for pipeline remediation projects reinforced with carbon fiber.
