I also co-hosted a movie podcast for Lee Enterprises called "Streamed & Screened" which won a 2022 Iowa Newspaper Association award for one of the best podcasts in the state.

On a "typical week," whatever that is, I could be found sitting in on county board meetings, doing deep research on a dispute about a musical instrument or out in the neighborhood talking to folks about their frustrations with officials.

I reviewed new albums, songs, and concerts for a blog that I started. I also covered breaking news within the pop and indie music communities, penned year-end lists and edited content contributed by freelance writers. Finally, I worked with social media sites such as: Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram on a daily basis to promote the blog which helped it to grow by a good amount by the time I functionally retired it.

Wrote about breaking news in music, film, food, fashion, television, games and politics for Paste’s website while working on longer projects such as a "Trump Tracker" that analyzed POTUS' executive orders and presidential memos and broke down their larger ramifications.

Columbia, Missouri Area

During my time at Vox Magazine, a city magazine in Columbia Missouri, I wore almost every hat imaginable. I wrote about voter-ID laws on the ballot, a musical anthem for Mizzou campus protesters in fall 2015, frog-gigging and spicy drinks custom made for the summertime. As a music/arts/books department editor, I pitched and edited stories about: authors with deep Columbia ties (such as Tennessee Williams), prominent food documentaries and the rich history of one the city's most popular restaurants. Finally, as a guest EIC for one issue, I brought together an entire magazine dedicated to CoMo's underground music scene.

Provided coverage of local concerts and music for community radio station KKFI. In February 2014, I worked a fundraising table for KKFI at the 2014 International Folk Alliance Conference to promote the station and network with local acts.

DJ’d multiple specialty and format shows for Truman State radio station KTRM (88.7 FM) including a garage rock and all-British show. In addition, I wrote copy for news segments on the channel, developed audio news packages for station, and reported on-air live from the 2012 GOP Caucus in Iowa.
