GE Aviation’s newest facility in Lafayette, Indiana, will open in 2015. The 225,000-square-foot facility will assemble the new LEAP engine from CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (Safran) and GE. With the capacity to perform final assembly of the engine and the engine’s core, the Lafayette facility will receive components from GE’s network of more than 80 facilities around the world and more than 1,500 domestic suppliers.My role includes full responsibility for GE technology in the plant, including the LAN/WLAN networks, audio/video, RFID (passive), distributed antenna system, security system, facility management system, digital signage, software applications, VOIP and analog phones, servers, storage, and computing assets. Additionally, I am responsible for the financial management behind each item and the employee experience (reaching ~300 employees at full capacity). I am also a member of the site interviewing team charged with onboarding over 250 new employees through the coming years. Finally, I lead ITLP Recruiter for Purdue University.This role includes managing campus relations, leading career fair participation, performing interviews, and making hiring decisions for ITLP across GE as a whole.
