I audit Xcel Energy nuclear security performance to ensure security force compliance with all policies and procedures. I am a primary response team member during Nuclear Regulatory Commission security inspections. I am responsible for updating policies and procedures regularly, and recommend or take action as appropriate. I am also responsible for identifying methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the security organization and submitting these suggestions to management. I conduct safety inspections, human performance, as well as safety related investigations in accordance with site requirements. I network with various department managers for scheduled work activities and perform routine assessments of security programs. I monitor security department key performance indicators and fulfill other security related duties to meet departmental needs and regulatory commitments.

After transitioning from G4S to Securitas, my job description and roles were the same. For Securitas as well, I performed personnel, administrative, and oversight duties of the security force, as well as reviewing all documents prepared by personnel in the performance of duty. I was responsible for inspecting security officers and reporting directly to the contract security manager of necessary or recommended corrective, or remedial action in the areas of appearance, morale, security officer concerns, and general competency. I networked with various department managers for scheduled work activities as well as managed overtime to efficiently operate based on operations requirements. I was responsible for processing personnel requests (i.e. leaves of absence, vacation request, etc.) I participated in the supervisory selection processes to include promotion, boards, training, and personnel evaluations as well as maintained safeguard information in compliance with site procedures and regulatory compliance.
