Jared R. Knight is the associate director of operations at BYU Aspen Grove Family Camp in Utah. He has been at Aspen Grove for over 28 years. Jared has served as the president/chair of the Southwest Section/LCOL of the American Camp Association for eight years and now serves on a national ACA committee for volunteer engagement. Jared's recreation background also includes a camp director for the Boy Scouts of America, Intramural Supervisor for Brigham Young University, Intern at Walt Disney World, and Director of Development at United Way of Utah County. Jared holds a bachelor's degree in recreation management and youth leadership and a master's degree in public administration from Brigham Young University. He has been a certified park and recreation professional with the NRPA and a certified pool and spa operator with the NSPF. He is currently a certified archery instructor USA Archery, and a certified rifle instructor with the NRA. He has been a volunteer leader for the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years and has received the Silver Beaver Award from the Crossroads of the West Council. He has also been a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Kids on the Move, Mountainlands Community Health Clinic, Recreation and Habilitation Services, and North Fork Special Services. Jared's hobbies include traveling, backpacking, reading, and spending time with his family. In addition to writing eight activity books, Jared is a presenter for 34 instructional DVDs on games and activities and has been a regular author for CampBusiness Magazine. He is a presenter of recreational programming at many local, regional, and national recreational conferences and educational events.
