While attaining a bachelor’s degree in physics, I worked alongside a talented research group that consisted of several universities across the nation. I was tasked with analyzing a multitude of environmental data gathered from experiment sites in the Gulf of Mexico. My undergraduate research taught me how to use the MATLAB programming language to effectively analyze and produce relevant results from large datasets. I also spent five years in the United States Marine Corps. During my enlistment, I spent three years overseas and one year of service in combat. I learned how to operate within a team environment and also how to lead teams of my own. I learned how to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals while operating in a wide range of demanding environments.During my time as an Avionics technician, I was tasked with troubleshooting and maintaining combat ready aircraft. This work was typically done in demanding environments for long periods of time. Attention to detail and critical thinking were paramount in maintaining healthy aircrew/aircraft, and I excelled at both. Currently, I work as an engineer for Nelson Engineering Co. in Merritt Island, Florida. Here, I work with a specialized engineering team that travels to military bases across the continental U.S. conducting structural, mechanical, and electrical analyses on a variety of structures.
