Worked in the Hudson AMO group providing support on the HUNTER and Thorium-229 experiments. Technical skills involved include manipulating optics, constructing electronics, incorporating mechanical engineering standards into design, and programming.

Our research group aimed to reveal the fundamental physics governing the behavior of engineering materials, with a strong focus on understanding how the atomic structure of non-crystalline materials controls their macroscopic properties. To this end, we heavily relied on modeling and multiscale simulations. My main projects surrounded ballistic fracture analysis and mechanisms of shear flow in indentation, specifically working on convergence studies in simulation resolution.

Contracted with CreatorUp! in 2018 to publish video solutions to Civil Engineering problems for Chegg including Structural Analysis, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Science, and Reinforced Concrete Design. Made video solutions and served as the Civil Engineering SME. In 2019 I picked up Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Chemical Engineering solutions, publishing over 600 videos, and began training incoming tutors.

Served as a UCLA Engineering Ambassador, mostly giving tours of the engineering school to prospective students, admitted students, alumni, and potential donors. Other responsibilities included attending and working at events planned by the school of engineering.

Worked as a staff geotechnical engineering intern gaining exposure to office, field, and laboratory settings in geotechnical, geoenvironmental, hydrologic, and geologic engineering consulting.

Los Angeles, California

Worked with engineers and contractors to design and construct shoring for urban developments. Office and project responsibilities included quantity takeoffs, job walks, cost estimation, bid submittals, and shoring design (used CAD and Shoring Suite). Field responsibilities included layouts, quality control, shop drawings, daily reports, time cards and daily costs, and labor.

From the UCLA Athletics website, " Peer Learning Facilitators (“tutors”) provide academic guidance for UCLA student-athletes in group and individual peer learning sessions. The focus of support is lower-division, General Education courses, but learning guidance is also offered for selected introductory math/science courses, academic writing, and occasionally for upper-division courses. The mission in each peer learning session is to cultivate student-athletes' learning independence by helping them gain self-awareness of their learning habits, communicate their educational needs, set attainable goals, and develop the skills necessary to meet their personal expectations."

My team and I took a multi-faceted approach to analysis of the current state of swimming beaches in the greater Seattle region's watersheds. We specifically looked into shoreline development and its effects on macro-invertebrates as an indicator of ecosystem health. We also sampled the water for pH and pollutant indicators inclusive of E. Coli. We assessed public access to the swimming beaches across demographics in hopes of making these public spaces more equitable, and sought to inform the public about the quality of their natural water resources.

Engaged with people, exploring their conservation issues and landscapes across the urban and wild Pacific Northwest. Interacted in a team, together with instructors, conservation professionals, and community members at the heart of conservation controversies, to use the natural and social science techniques that underpin inclusive conservation. My team engages in problem-based learning, using the tools of conservation practice to bound the problem, consider solutions, engage the community and produce products that make a difference.
