Senior Financial Economist
Current• Initial role as a financial economist in 2015; Promoted to senior position in 2017.• Created a statistical model to assist the FDIC in assessing bank failure risk from a pandemic-driven recession. With enthusiastic management support, I further developed the model to become the FDIC’s Bank Stress Scenario (BaSS) Model, one of 3 failure-loss prediction models and the only stochastic model.• Led team of six to validate the BaSS model, in partnership with external consultants, for corporation-wide use.• Regularly prepared and delivered briefings for the Chairman, Board, and other internal stakeholders.• Presented both academic studies and industry analyses at a variety of external venues, including the Financial Stability Oversight Council, the Interagency Country Exposure Review Committee, research conferences, and international training seminars.
