About Jared Singleton, Student
I am a Computer Science student at the University of North Texas, graduating Dec2023.I have currently taken an interest in the Networks and Security lab at UNT as an undergraduate research assistant where I am working on a paper that was written about Dynamic Provable Data Possession. It is my first of hopefully many research positions that I will hold while working towards a Masters or PhD in Computer Science and Engineering. Before I started my higher education I was in the United States Marine Corps where my first job was a Flight Equipment Technician. I worked with all of the survival and safety equipment that was used on the aircraft such as parachutes, life rafts, medical kits, and all the gear that pilots wore while flying. The second job I had was a Marine Corps Embassy Security Guard where I worked alongside the Department of State to provide security for U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas and help with diplomatic relations. I was able to spend time at the U.S. Embassies in London, UK and Bujumbura, Burundi. As well as the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China. Prior to my higher education and the military I was just an Assistant Manager at a tire shop where all I did was work without any real plans or dreams for my future. That was the main driving force for me to join the military and escape the monotony of my life back then and find something better. Now I have the ambition to work hard so that I can achieve my goals and not just sit back and think about how great it would be to do something more with my life.
