I advised companies' management, including CFOs, on how they should most effectively align their corporate governance and executive compensation policies with best market practice.

I analyzed proposed mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and other economic proposals put forward by companies and wrote reports advising clients (institutional shareholders such as hedge funds, mutual funds, and pension funds) on how to vote on such proposals. I also advised clients on how to vote on pay packages for executive officers, ensuring that the executive pay was in alignment with company performance. The alignment of pay and performance is essential, as it provides the executive with the necessary incentive to put shareholders' interests before his or her own. As an associate, I co-wrote white papers on proxy access - allowing shareholders with a certain ownership threshold the ability to present alternative board nominees on the ballot - and its adoption by companies in the S&P 1500, as well as on trends in board director elections. I ensured that companies' corporate governance practices were being conducted with shareholders' interests in mind, in a way that did not entrench management or encourage board-shareholder divergence. I engaged with the leadership of companies issuing proposals about a variety of corporate governance and financial matters.

At The Israel Project (TIP), a strategic communications shop focused on strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship, I facilitated and managed information across departments, serving as a hub for situational awareness for important developments in the Middle East and domestically. I researched and wrote about a variety of topics pertinent to the region, particularly Israel, the Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Syrian civil war, and Iran, providing rapid-response research for journalists, congressmen, and the general public. I wrote dozens of articles for The Tower, the Israel Project's blog, including at the Iran nuclear talks in Lausanne, Switzerland in March-April 2015, where TIP was the sole representative of the pro-Israel community. I wrote and edited The Daily TIP, TIP's daily, flagship email newsletter that went out to tens of thousands of subscribers. While at TIP I was also able to provide translations from Arabic into English when my coworkers needed it. In addition, I managed TIP's Twitter account.

I also advised clients on how to vote on golden parachute packages for executive officers.

I conducted research for Joshua Muravchik, a Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. I did much of the research for his book Making David Into Goliath, and I also worked on revising a past book on liberals in the Arab world. This position provided me with detailed knowledge of Israeli and Palestinian history, society, and politics, as well as the events, causes, and effects of the Arab Spring on the Middle East.

I conducted economic research on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates). I also researched the current conflict in Syria and provided Arabic-to-English translations of foreign official documents, and wrote and edited project proposals.

I was an intern for Frederick Kagan at the Critical Threats Project, where I analyzed Yemen and the Horn of Africa. I specifically focused on military and counterterrorism issues, and consulted mostly Arabic resources in my research. I used Palantir software on a daily basis.

I filed claims for class action lawsuits, earning hundreds of thousands of dollars for the firm (a hedge fund). I assisted in the execution of financial transactions, such as interest rate swaps and foreign exchange trades, and I also assisted in preparing and executing financial agreements, including ISDA Master Agreements and repurchase agreements.
