I chose nursing because I am dedicated to caring for patients when they need it most. A member of a Cardiac Cath Lab team, I enjoy partnering with my colleagues to make a drastic difference in the way patients feel. I am seeking to draw on my clinical operations management, training, and patient care experience to provide nursing staff with educational opportunities to build a solid foundation and develop their existing knowledge base. By developing rapport with procedural staff and assisting in providing evidence-based care for patients, I ensure that staff members are up-to-date on current nursing practices and continuing education. As a nurse preceptor/mentor, I have always taken pride in training new nursing staff. It truly is a great feeling to see the amount of growth nurses experience during their training. Focused on continuous improvement, I routinely ask the nurses I mentor for feedback on my teaching skills and my ability to adapt to their various learning styles. I see new challenges as learning opportunities and apply critical thinking to problem solving. When approached with the right strategy, the outcome can be solid and organized.
