During my time as a construction and facilities manager I had an assortment of job duties. My job took over after the well was staked, I met with the dirt contractor and laid in roads, surveyed and staked pipeline right of ways and had everything set up for the drilling rig to move on location. On the new leases I was in charge of ordering the equipment.

As a production tech I spent the majority of my time shooting fluid levels, weighing wells and looking over the data figuring out the best way to optimize the well. I was also involved in failure meetings, chemical optimization and rod pumping design.

My job duties varied, after the well was drilled and stimulated it became the foreman’s responsibility. I was one of two foremen in charge of overseeing day to day operations such as building batteries, laying flow lines, and any other construction that was going on at the time. I also helped oversee the pumpers and pulling unit crews.

I was one of the men in charge of frac water and preparation in the field before the frac. I had a roustabout crew that I supervised. We did various tasks from running water wells, laying poly pipe, hooking up well heads, and hooking up tank batteries. I dealt with dirt contractors on positioning and building locations. I was also been exposed to some.

Floor hand on a Pulling unit (Summer Intern)During this summer I did three rod jobs and the rest of the time we were plugging wells and roustabout work.

I worked in the shop selling oilfield parts and supplies, I was also in charge of ordering some stock.

Floor hand on a Pulling UnitDuring my first summer on the pulling unit we did completions. This allowed me to learn and better understand things about logging, perforating, spotting acid, and pumping sand. On several wells we went in and recompleted other zones and drilled out plugs.

Floor hand on a Swabbing Unit On the swabbing unit we went to wells that were loaded up and swabbed them off. Any time a work-over rig left a well we would be right behind it to swab the well dry and get it flowing again.

Cleaned and painted well hookupsDuring this job I went out to various locations cleaning and painting the wellhead, flow line, meter run, and storage tanks if required. I also painted vessels in a gas plant.
