Media production is a passion of mine that has been manifested both in personal and professional ways. I have an innate love for the visual medium, be that photography or the moving image.My work and contributions have taken many forms in collaborations with creatives and clients alike. Cinematography, camera operating and assisting, video editing, photography, and colour grading are a few of the key areas in which I often specialise.

Lake Macquarie

Lead the management of the City’s largest event, the Living Smart Festival weekend, which saw over 35,000 attendees following the departure of the previous Event Manager who abandoned the project in the early-mid planning stages of the event. Project managed a team of 8+ members to ensure the successful delivery of the festival in its 10th year.Continued working with the Tourism and Marketing Team with managing and producing content for social media platforms, running advertisements in local media publications and developing a Marketing Plan for event promotion.Mentored trainees in both the Events Team and in the Tourism and Marketing Team to ensure they were trained in both relevant operation tasks and in the expectations of the industry and the workplace.Assisted in driving the creation of a new strategic plan with the working title of Sports Tourism Project with the vision of understanding the economic benefits and impacts of sports events and activities across Lake Macquarie. My most prominent contribution to this was the launch of the Sports Tourism Survey whereby the data would be used to shape the strategic plan.

Assisted in the coordination of major Council events such as the Lake Mac Festival, Float Your Boat and the Living Smart Festival, as well as minor Council events such as the You’re Kidding Me Expo and various facility openings. Assessment and approval of community events and assisting funding programs were also required in this role. Skills in risk management, event planning and community engagement were employed and strengthened.Led the management of the Lake Macquarie Centre for Performing Arts, which included coordinating bookings, scheduling regular and one-off maintenance of the centre, inducting new hirers, issuing invoices and processing payments. Developed a video induction series to save staff hours and costs for physical site inductions for every new hirer, as well as assisting in the re-evaluation of many outdated documents and processes such as the Operating Manual and application process.Contributed to defining the vision and strategic direction within the Events Team’s inaugural Events and Festivals Strategy 2019-2024.In conjunction with Events, I joined the Tourism and Marketing Team for the final 2 months of my traineeship and continued working with this team in my preceding role as Assistant Events and Festivals Officer. I was tasked with managing and producing content for social media platforms for all the libraries in the LGA, running event related advertisements for local publications such as the Newcastle Herald and InTouch Magazine, and developing a Marketing Plan for event advertisements and promotions.Early completed my traineeship to be appointed into the role of Assistant Events and Festivals Officer to lead the management of the Living Smart Festival, a position that was created solely to retain my skills and expertise.Winner of Trainee of the Year 2019 in Tourism and Events at the NSW Training Awards for the Hunter Region.

Tasked with managing ‘The Cheese Cave’ store, performing tasks such as designing the store layout, operating day-to-day sales, stock control, product delivery and liaising with producers and suppliers. Additional skills in marketing were gained through social media promotion, product design and website creation. Attended various markets and festivals across Manning Valley to promote and sell the products. Basic experience in craft cheese production was also gained.
