I have served in this position since November of 2014. During my time as Health Commissioner (equivalent of agency director), I have had the opportunity to manage a staff of 13 employees, worked with other county agencies to implement health policies, developed new public health programs, implemented numerous cost savings programs, managed a budget of approximately $1.5 million annually, and performed many other duties in an effort to improve the overall health of Highland County. I have experience in health practice management, budgeting, project management, public policy development, medical billing, emergency planning, emergency and public communications, public speaking, training and exercise development, grant writing, and other areas related to public health, healthcare, and emergency preparedness. I have served in a leading role in local, regional, and state level outbreak and other emergency response operations.I also serve as the IT Administrator for the health department.
