I’ve spent over 20 years working in public health, emergency management, IT systems, and policy development. Since 2014, I’ve been the Health Commissioner for Highland County, leading local public health efforts in a variety of areas. I also handle the department’s IT needs—troubleshooting, security, and networking—and recently earned my CompTIA Security+ certification in 2024.Beyond public health, I’ve had the chance to work on a range of consulting projects, focusing on emergency preparedness for healthcare and public health organizations across the country. My background includes a Master’s in Environmental Management and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, along with leadership roles on local boards like Highland Health Providers and the Highland County Drug Abuse Prevention Coalition. In 2024, I started up Black Rabbit Consulting, LLC, where I work on grant management, IT development, website design, community education programs, and a variety of other projects. I enjoy moonlighting on projects for small, rural communities who often struggle with the technical aspects of grant application, cybersecurity training, emergency planning, and other projects.
