I covered growth, development and economic mobility. Much of the coverage centered on the city boards regulating land use and zoning, as well as the wider factors impacting these issues: Connecticut's housing crisis, economic inequality, anti-development forces and more.

My job was a mix of breaking and trending news. In my downtime, I pursued enterprise ideas. The topics I covered most were public safety, health, housing, businesses and community events.

Led six high school journalism students on a semester-long enterprise journalism project about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on our Chapel Hill-Carrboro community. My work included designing and teaching a curriculum of nine weekly lessons about topics like finding sources, interviewing people about sensitive subjects, sequencing between information and quotations, and more. I also did three rounds of edits for each student's story and oversaw publication and promotion of their work.
