My passion for nature and how we interact with the world around us gave me the desire to study Aquatic Resource Management at Texas State University. I found myself intrigued by the way humans manage natural resources and I enjoyed learning about the laws and policies that we enforce to protect the environment. Outside of my studies, I gained hands on experience with an internship with the Edwards Aquifer Research and data center. I also had the pleasure of working for Texas State University and the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment. My employment gave me the opportunity to educate the public about the natural world us and how we impact our environment, specifically our water resources. I earned the position of manager and was responsible for endangered species management, water conservation and native flora and fauna identification. Looking to the future I hope to find a career that will challenge me, allow me to expand my knowledge, and give me a chance to change the way we interact with nature’s resources.
