- Member of Monsanto's Emergency Response Team. The team is run as a functioning fire department and training is performed as such, with a focus on industrial fire fighting, rescue, and HazMat- Pro Board Certified HazMat Technician- Pro Board Certified 1081 Industrial Fire Brigade- This role is in addition to my regular job duties as Mechanical Integrity Engineer at the Luling Plant.

1. Routinely produce, review, and/or approve weld repair plans for plant equipment. Must ensure proper weld process, filler metal, and inspection process is used. Provide guidance to unit engineers to proper repair method. Ensures that the repair made is up to the applicable code (ASME, API, etc.)2. Utilize CODEWARE® COMPRESS® software to produce engineering calculations for existing vessels. Some vessels no longer have the original calculation package available and COMPRESS® is used to produce the calculations needed (minimum thickness, vacuum rings, etc.) Inspectors and engineers use the calculations obtained to determine areas that need repair.3. Use COMPRESS® in order to find the acceptable pressure and thickness for the rerating of vessels. 4. Work closely with API inspectors to assist them in the interpretation of damage mechanisms on equipment and the solution to the problem. 5. Perform RCFAs on failed equipment. Write the report and make it available to the plant for reference. Example RCFA was for boiler tube failures. Had destructive testing performed on the failed tube and worked closely with the water treatment company to determine the cause of failure. Communicated the cause of failure to plant personnel and proposed a solution. Action items were assigned to plant personnel implement the proposed solution. 6. Have attended ASME B31.3 and ASME Sec VIII Div 1 courses provided by ASME. 7. Support Maintenance Engineers with mechanical integrity problems.

Worked closely with maintenance technicians, craft supervisors, designers, inspectors and others to establish quality and timely work practices Provided torque values to pipe-fitters and maintenance supervisors for critical flanges and equipment.• Provided technical support during planned and unplanned outages.• Maintained equipment repair history, evaluated repair cost, and trends. Maintained Critical Spares list. Assisted with documentation of inspection history of plant equipment. Set up and updated BOMs in warehouse and SAP.• Following equipment repairs and overhauls. Planned, managed and coordinated 3 major pipeline inspections and assisted with 2 others. Involved heavy coordination between multiple contractors, and plants. • Maintained contact with operations and maintenance to understand the overall health of the unit and understand the areas of focus.• Participated in two major Chlorine/Caustic outages at Oxy Taft and Geismar. Assisted with the vessel inspections and developing repair plans. • Participated in a major Cogen outage at the Oxy Taft plant. • Familiar with inspections of furnaces, burners, and boilers. Assisted with the inspection of refractory inside furnaces.• Led the effort to re-purpose a tank for a liquid of higher density and provided guidance to plant supervision on the max allowable level for the tank.• Have experience working with lined vessels and familiar with general repair mechanisms and the process.• Worked closely with the onsite Flowserve Rep in troubleshooting seal failures and implementing seal flush plans.• Recommended cost savings plans for the plant equal to or greater than annual compensation each year.• Managed small capital projects <$400,000• Understands and upholds the strong safety culture of a VPP STAR site.
