Right out of highschool I joined the United States Marine Corps as a data networking specialist (0651) building computer networks and email servers for our Marines here at home. During this time I worked on learning how to write code through self-led research on YouTube and Stack Overflow. After my service, I took that experience into the civilian sector working with Walmart as a helpdesk technician and, later, as a programmer. The longer I worked as a programmer the more disconnected I felt from the end customer and the people I was supposed to be impacting with my day-to-day operations.This brings us to where I am now, pursuing a degree in finance with the long-term goal of opening a financial advisory firm to help people with the lofty problem of managing their limited resources effectively.
