Summarily, I am a communicator. Since joining high school debate, my love and aptitude for communication, especially verbally, has come to the forefront of my interests, both professionally and personally. The conduct of business is something I view as a constant puzzle to satisfy the needs of one's stakeholders. Accordingly, communicating, researching, analyzing, and understanding these needs are the main way one can improve others lives.My educational history centered on my training to become a teacher to others, yet the further down this route I traveled the more I desired something more. Rather than just a tool for theoretical approaches and ideas, I learned that my affinity for communication and analysis drew me towards the practical applications of these skills. Though I have a BS in History, my experiences in learning that subject demonstrated to me the importance of the interpersonal interactions necessary both in the workplace and in impacting the lives of others positively.My current employment demonstrates this synthesis of communication and application. As a Field Operations Clerk at the United States Census bureau, I am challenged daily in the administrative tasks necessary to keep our operations rolling. Here, I have participated in the hiring process, preparation of field work for enumerators, and the supervision of remote employees. All throughout, the interpersonal skills I acquired in studying history remained pertinent.Looking forward, I endeavor to apply these skills in the business environment in a way that fosters real connections between people and firms. In increasing understanding of one another via communication, our relationships and connections are strengthened.
