Wireless communications research engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). Significant expertise in the areas of wireless communications, communications theory, cellular technologies, and tactical cellular deployments. Current work at JHU/APL focuses on the use of LTE and 5G for tactical, national security, and emergency preparedness applications. Research interests include emerging beyond 5G cellular technologies, physical layer communications, error-control coding, and cellular & wireless networking standards.The ability to communicate complex technical material is, I believe, one of my key strengths. In my role as a technical subject matter expert at JHU/APL, I have gained substantial experience in both oral and written communications. I have briefed a diverse set of audiences, including frequent sponsor interaction, and I have written numerous technical reports and white papers. I also co-authored a textbook entitled "Wireless Networking: Understanding Internetworking Challenges" that was published by Wiley/IEEE Press. My contributions to that work included chapters on LTE and GSM.
