Integration Services - Real Time Data a streaming with Kafka

Technical lead for the University's document imaging and storage system. Wrote applications to monitor space utilization and file sizes, which resulted in a 85% space savings. Created a training and support website for end users to reduce support tickets for common issues.Technical lead for the University's customer relationship management (CRM) software. Extended and enhanced the product's functionality by writing Oracle database objects (packages, procedures, functions, tables, and views) called by the product's campaign engine.Spearheaded the implementation of a wiki-based documentation system and drafted the documentation policies and templates.Drafted peer code review standards and developed test-to-production migration processes and change management tracking. Co-implemented the use of git-based version control system for development teams.Maintained existing and created new scripts and programs in various languages (Perl, PL/SQL, MS Batch, PowerShell) for the University's automation engine software, which is used to prepare and load data into the Production database, and to prepare, export, and transfer data out of the database, typically to external vendor interfaces (such as banking ACH files, state and federal reporting, and other interfaces).Created functional user guides, and provided training for end users, as well as functional and technical support for end users using the University's ERP system through email, phone calls, and in-person visits.

This was an unpaid volunteer position on the Classified Staff Council, a shared governance group representing the state classified staff of the University.Recorded Classified Staff Council meeting minutes, and published the minutes to the Classified Staff Council website. Designed and maintained the Classified Staff Council website. Set up and managed a SharePoint instance for the Council, and created a Flickr account for the Council for hosting pictures taken at our public functions.Was a voting member of the executive board for the Classified Staff Council.

Designed and wrote a desktop application in C# WinForms for searching old police records. The department had been through several different record storage systems before the current records management and the application combined these old records into a single database, and provided quick access and full-text search of old police records.Wrote a rolodex-type desktop application in C# WPF so dispatchers had the ability to quickly locate emergency contact numbers. Drafted emergency response training documents for the dispatch center and set up a secondary, fully-functional dispatch station for emergencies.Trained and mentored new full-time and student employees, and earned certification as an Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO)-certified dispatch trainer.Administered dispatch computer systems and the in-car mobile data terminals (MDTs) used by police officers. Worked with software vendor during installation of the department's CAD (computer-aided dispatch) and RMS (records management system), and continued to work with them to troubleshoot bugs.Authored and maintained the Police Department website.Answered both emergency and non-emergency phone lines, interacted with various state and federal crime information systems, monitored alarm systems across campus, utilized police-frequency radios to communicate with and track officers, entered data and calls-for-service into the CAD (computer-aided dispatch) system, and performed record-keeping duties into the RMS (record managements system).
