Senior Eletrical Engineer And Engineering Manager
CurrentdB Systems is a manufacturer of land based aircraft navigation antennas for military and government applications. My technical responsibilities at dB systems include design and programming of embedded systems currently centered around a Freescale processor. I also modify and maintain the end user computer program designed for a linux operating system. This end user software is written in C, html, and Java. Other technical responsibilities include analog circuit design and PCB layout. This includes digital logic as well as amplifier and filter circuits. As the lead engineer I have interfaced directly with customers to aid in planning of new system installations as well as troubleshooting of existing installations. A lot of troubleshooting was able to be done via email and phone calls. When email of phone calls were not sufficient or getting the system on line was urgent I have also had to traveled both domestic and international. During my travels I have worked with US Air Force personnel as well as foreign governments to troubleshoot not only the equipment I help design but equipment from other manufacturers that interfaces with the equipment I helped design. Non-technical responsibilities are very broad and include management of other Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. This includes hiring and training new engineers and technicians as well as task assignment and tracking of my employees. While this is not my favorite part of the job it is a task that I feel I have been able to excel at increasing the productivity of the engineering department.
