I worked in the Water Solutions group of the Interiors business unit. They design vacuum waste systems and components for commercial aircraft. Some of my key accomplishments in this role included:- Qualification of the entire vacuum waste system for the Textron Longitude business jet platform,- Advancement of the company's commercial jet vacuum generator capabilities including compressor design and motor selection,- Closure of three separate root cause analyses including corrective action planning and execution,- Project planning and execution for the Embraer Legacy 450/500 vacuum waste system.

I worked in the Environmental Control and Life Support System department. By the end of my time in this role, I was responsible for four subsystems and directed a team of six engineers and three technicians. Initially though, my primary focus was the development of the carbon dioxide removal system. Several key development milestones were achieved under my guidance:- the carbon dioxide removal component met its performance requirements,- a flight architecture was developed and packaged,- a proof-of-concept system was produced, tested, and met key performance requirements.To support these milestones, I had the opportunity to design and test a light-weight electrically-actuated vacuum isolation valve.

Some of my key accomplishments in this role include:- System model modification and execution to evaluate requirement compliance and support validation testing of the Boeing 787-9 environmental control system,- Development of and transition to a new steady-state modeling and analysis tool- Advancement of the company's fuel tank-inerting system capabilities including modeling, testing, and system integration.

The Space Systems business unit designs Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) for spacecraft. Specifically, my role included:- Performing a computational fluid dynamic analysis to verify the use of a Venturi tube flowmeter component- Designing a sizing tool for filter and gas-trap components.
