Helped build and launch Vivint's Smart Home platform, and helped it scale to meet unprecedented customer growth. Created automated interactions with cellular carriers including Verizon, AT&T, & Rogers. Implemented new features of the Vivint security & home automation panel, including the encrypted UDP protocol (uses libsodium).Leveraged tools including Python, Linux, SaltStack, RabbitMQ and MongoDB (including adding access control), openembedded linux, git, mercurial and a little bit of Java.

Contributed to the developement of insider threat monitoring software used by Fortune 100 and Federal customers.Implemented code in a variety of software tiers from the client to the server. Worked heavily with RedHat Enterprise Linux, Windows, C++, Java, perl, SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, CMake, make, JBoss, JPA/Hibernate and ffmpeg. Trained peers on Linux systems programming. Go-to resource for Linux and regular expression questions.

Assessed the security of eight separate internally developed applications, wrote reports, and made recommendations for improvement. Co-developed application and development security policies and guidelines used by dozens of product teams. Co-developed in-depth security training for application developers, coordinated training efforts, and conducted training. Researched, evaluated and recommended tools for static application security analysis. This resulted in the licensing of more than $250K worth of software from two vendors.

Developed enterprise security assessment and intrusion detection software on UNIX and Windows in Java and C++. Applications include Enterprise Security Manager (a $50 million per year product), Symantec Vulnerability Assessment and Intruder Alert.

Worked in a team of eight engineers to develop features of Word Perfect 8 for UNIX.
