Lamina Systems is a new class of vision technology inspired by the structure and neural processing found in insect vision. This new generation of sensor technology provides a solution in the defense tech space as well as in the health tech space. In defense, Lamina is focused on threat detection (e.g.,, sniper detection and bullet tracking), collision avoidance (e.g., for UAV's and autonomous automobiles), and infrastructure survey (e.g., rail line fatigue or power line sag). Lamina's low-contrast early warning capabilities also are thought to provide for the earliest detection of certain cancers. I lead the discussions on the health tech side and was involved in the discussions on the defense tech side.

Connected Health Austin is a fiscally sponsored program of the Austin Community Foundation and brings the benefits of consumer authorized health data sharing to the Austin community. Connected Health Austin is creating the nation's first fully connected health community with consumer control of their health data. Various data sharing applications will be introduced that benefit from and demonstrate the value of health data sharing. Connected Health Austin is designed to be a model for a nationwide consumer managed health data sharing platform.

The mission of the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute is to promote and foster entrepreneurial practices through education, outreach, and research. We seek to inspire, innovate, integrate, and implement new ways of thinking, to positively impact students, the regional economy, the state of Louisiana, and the nation.• Developed and served on the institute’s advisory board• Strategically guided this startup institute by overseeing, promoting and maintaining the financial viability of the privately funded institute working with LSU’s largest donor• Designed and taught courses in Innovation & Creativity to undergraduate students –The course is now offered for all disciplines and had a waiting list.• Consulted enterprise clients through LSU Executive Education on topics such as innovation, strategy, leadership, and entrepreneurship• Designed and launched the Entrepreneurship Fellows Program – bringing in approximately 50% of the funding of the institute while building strong public and private partnerships between the university, the students and the business community• Created the “LSU 100” – a celebration of the fastest growing businesses led by former LSU students.
