Government Relations Attorney, Lobbyist
CurrentFounded professional, full-service law and lobbying corporation to provide expert governmental and gaming counsel. Represent 20+ clients annually before California legislature, governor’s office, local governments, city councils, governing boards, and state agencies. Oversee strategic direction, operations, and budgets; develop standard operating procedures (SOPs); and hire, train, and mentor staff. Draft, monitor, and analyze legislation and testify before legislative committees. Architect public-affairs strategies through media messaging, coalition building, and litigation. Propose and analyze regulation changes, assist clients with licensure issues, and ensure that clients remain in compliance with regulations. Engineer collaborative partnerships with nonprofit organizations and strategic stakeholder alliance in bipartisan manner to create proactive initiatives. Counsel high-level government officials during intense and sensitive court proceedings. Appear on behalf of clients before California Gambling Control Commission to rectify administrative actions levied by Bureau of Gambling Control. Collaborate with state legislature on client audits to cease harmful legislations and regulations. Work with legislature to help clients secure funding through state budget process. Manage 3 direct reports.
