The best part about being an mechanical engineer in my mind is that it gives me the ability to improve the lives of others around me and that there is always something to learn. Finding innovative solutions to connect others to each other, to better health, or simply to a better quality of life drives me to produce my best work while continuously growing. This drive has served me as I went through college and eventually into the workforce. I've developed quickly as a key contributor on my team. Some accomplishments include the following. • Aided in partial removal of nonfunctioning 787 equipment that is projected to yield $9+ million in savings over 5 years.• Developed new electrical design requirements into source control drawings for 737 rotary variable differential transducers that's expected to reduce sensor rejections by ~3%.• Created a predictive model that replicates dam deflection throughout the year via interpolation using radial and tangential deflection data of Boundary Dam.My experiences have also granted me other competencies, such as the following. • Presenting technical issues to leadership and government• Technical writing• Data Analysis• Certification & Regulation• Plastic Injection Molding• Design for ManufacturingPlease reach out so we can discuss how I can add to your establishment! Feel free to email me at jaridbennett@gmail.com. I'd love to learn about your company and how I might contribute.

Integration, Certification, & Safety Engineer - Flight ControlsBoeing Jul 2021 - Apr 2024Arlington, Va, Us• Developed fault trees using CAFTA to ensure reliability and prove certification requirements were met. • Built functional hazard assessments to identify hazards in the flight controls.• Current requirements focal for the Flight Controls organization, ensuring proper development assurance processes are followed per ARP4754A while managing 700+ engineering requirements.• Established 60+ new engineering safety requirements and their subsequent verification plans/analyses to show engineering compliance while achieving buy-in from cross-functional teams.• Proposed new requirement traceability for software DAL requirements to support proper validation, verification, and testing per DO-178 -
Compliance EngineerBoeing Nov 2020 - Jul 2021Arlington, Va, Us• Helped lead efforts to address systemic issues in Boeing’s design change classification system and overhaul it accordingly to create a more robust process for engineers.• Eliminated non-compliances in engineering projects and brought them back into FAA regulatory compliance.• Built a working relationship with the FAA to resolve disputes between the FAA and Boeing. -
Design Engineer - Pilot ControlsBoeing Jul 2019 - Nov 2020Arlington, Va, Us• Aided in removal of a nonessential 787 system that is projected to yield $9+ million in cost savings over 5 years.• Helped lead the effort to find suitable disinfectants for pilot controls for the 737/747/767/777/787 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure a safety environment for airline crews.• Lead a root cause investigation on a failure in a critical safety device on the 777 and drove the resulting design change to support manufacturing and the 777 fleet.• Employed FMEAs, FHAs, SSAs, and dynamic testing to lead failure analyses on the 787 pilot control systems and presented my proposed solutions to executive leadership.• Helped develop and perform holistic testing with a cross-functional team on 767 flight controls to determine root causes and develop solutions for flight test failures, saving $1+ million per year.• Collaborated with other engineers, manufacturing, quality, and domestic/international vendors to ensure products meet specifications, improve quality, and prevent production line stoppers. -
Design Engineer - Pilot ControlsBoeing May 2018 - Aug 2018Arlington, Va, Us• Helped develop source control drawings (SCDs) for rotary variable differential transducers and then sent those for bidding at several suppliers. • Updated several requirements in the SCDs, such as the standards for electrical concurrence, to improve the installation process of these sensors, resulting in time and material savings. • Reviewed and dispositioned supplier submitted drawings, identifying potential failures in their design changes. • With another intern, organized the intern presentations that were given to management within our department. -
Resident AssistantGonzaga University Aug 2017 - May 2018Spokane, Wa, Us• Learned strong interpersonal skills and how to work with others regardless of background in order to get projects done and meet deadlines rapidly.• Developed various programs for and counseled approximately 40 freshmen at Gonzaga University.• Working with a small team, completed programs pertaining to various social subjects for the residents of Gonzaga University.• Created programs very rapidly and with limited resources. -
Dam Safety Engineering InternSeattle City Light May 2017 - Sep 2017Seattle, Wa, Us• Utilized radial and tangential deflection data of Boundary Dam to interpolate and create a model that replicates the dam deflection throughout the year, giving a predictable model that can be referenced against in future data to see how the deflection of the dam is changing. • Analyzed various other forms of data dealing with the dynamic properties of the dam. • Aided in Performance Based Testing (PBT) for Boundary Dam. Used accelerometers placed throughout the dam to measure the dam's response to various conditions of spillage. -
Dam Safety Engineering InternSeattle City Light May 2016 - Aug 2016Seattle, Wa, Us• Salvaged what was originally thought to be 20 years of data and make it useful. • Aided in the development and design of a small data base system that will be implemented on one of the dams.• Traveled to Masonry Dam at Cedar Falls, Boundary Dam, and the Skagit Hydroelectric Project during the internship. • Took instrument readings required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in order to maintain licensing. • Drafted and sent several documents to submit to FERC comprised of data I took, creating a comprehensible report with the goal to reduce the time spent on unimportant data collection. -
Construction Management InternPort Of Seattle Jun 2014 - Aug 2014Seattle, Wa, Us• Duties included working directly in the airport, learning how to cooperate with a wide variety of people, making sure operations ran smoothly as to not disrupt the airport. • Strong management, budgeting, planning, and cooperation were required. • Managed my own project that is now in use at Sea-Tac International Airport. Learned basic civil engineering under a civil engineer. • Gained exposure to electrical, structural, and mechanical engineering, as well as other airport operations. • I was also given the opportunity to oversee a project from start to finish. I budgeted the project and coordinated the work to build three customer service kiosks that are in use at Sea-Tac Airport today. Pictures of the process can be seen below. -
LaborerSegale Properties Jun 2013 - Aug 2013• Duties included a variety of hands-on work, such as concrete chipping, painting, and some mechanical work. • Parts running was another duty, teaching me how to interact with suppliers in order to obtain the desired equipment or products in an efficient matter.
-
