I was part of delivery projects involving end users from few individuals to millions of people residing all around the world. Depending on the project I designed architecture, led workshops, did planning and documenting and implemented complex customizations. I was also responsible for development of documentation quality, methodologies, competence and skills of our team.

I worked for the European Parliament in ITSM projects as a independent contractor. My roles ranged from ITIL and CA Service Desk consultant to Java software developer. I also worked with Business Objects XI and underlying databases to produce accurate and up to date reports for the management. I worked a total of 19 months during the 2 year calendar period. Rest of the time (6 months) I was concentrating to complete my MSc. thesis.

I did work in various ITSM projects with various external customers. My job was to design and implement ITIL compliant service support systems using CA Service Desk among other products. Depending on the case I worked in multiple roles from ITIL process consultant to software developer who had to use Perl, Java, MS SQL Server and many other technologies on a daily basis. I communicated directly with suppliers and customers and worked in a virtual teams making it essential to have good communication and social skills. Data security, quality and reliability was top priority in many projects and security clearance by Finnish Security Intelligence Service was almost always required.

I created and delivered reports for the HR and management on regular basis and automated delivering reports to external customers. I always had to be creative and create ad-hoc solutions including new in-house software implemented in programming languages like Perl and Java and databases like MS SQL Server.
