During my Microsoft career I continued to run product definition phase of certain Lumia devices. The project planning and execution management included business case responsibility with product manager. The team that I was running was taking care of all hardware related integration work except basic chipset design. Some examples of my team's responsibilities:- new feature definition and planning e.g. related to cameras, sensors or so- product design and materials (all design details starting from product surface)- product quality and durability planning and estimation- product dimensions and weight optimization- mechanical design- design of product specific components like display, battery, circuit boar, flexes and connectors - performance definition and early estimations by doing simulations and prototypes- usability studies- competitor follow-up including teardowns- product cost optimization and estimations (bill of materials) The job has been great as I was able to use my- leadership and team working skills- global networks- experience to translate customer/consumer needs to technical product requirements and specification with optimized cost structure- skills in project planning and execution- resource management skills- risk management skills- deep understanding of quality and product development processes

I have been working in many engineering and management positions including project manager of Nokia 5110, testing manager of Nokia 2110, product program manager of Nokia E66 and product definition phase manager for high end Lumia devices like Nokia 920 and Nokia 820.I have been running Nokia phone and smartphone projects and programs which have had tens of people and have been selling millions and making great profits. In addition I have learned a lot of programs which have not been that profitable ;)
