Tietokeskus operates in sixteen locations around Finland.During my assignment at Tietokeskus, we have unified a scattered group of companies into one Tietokeskus. On sabbatical I spent time with my family and friends. We travelled a lot and lived in Spain Málaga area getting familiar to Spanish culture, language and lifestyle. During my extended leave I also wrote a nonfiction book about information, management and change.

The group has its operations in several locations mainly in Finland and Nordics. My main responsibilities included translating business strategy and requirements of different business units into IT-roadmaps and operational service execution plans. The work was about managing extremely business critical application portfolio and services as well as defining and implementing cost effective, quality and secure infrastructure. During eight years in this position we successfully renewed all business critical systems by replacing outdated legacy software, enhanced quality and scope of infrastructure services, and simultaneously significantly improved overall cost effectiveness by lowering IT expenditure.As group CIO I was also leading a lean and highly skilled team of IT specialists. The work also included partner management, sourcing and IT procurement.During my assigment we renewed the whole outdated legacy IT-architecture and implemented SAP business technology centered platform. -

I was was responsible for technology and supplier selection, contract negotiation, project budget and schedule. After successful implementation I was promoted to Director of Quality and IT.

The work included volume-, capacity- and manufacturing execution planning and handling of outbound logistics. Volume and capacity negotiations and communication with OEM customers (Saab Automobile and Porsche AG) was an important part of the work. During 18 months in this position I succeeded in gaining solid confidence of our customer's. I was also managing a project in order to streamline production planning and execution processes in order to improve conveyor line balancing efficiency. As department manager I was also leading a team of planning professionals.In summer 2000 I was asked to join Teleste Corporation. -
