My most recent role as the Centre Manager at Nucleus Arts Chatham, consisting of 25 art studios, a gallery, conference facility and café. My role required me to oversee the hiring of the gallery, conference facility and the renting of the studios. I planned, organised and executed creative arts programs for the Medway community and co-ordinated these activities with Local Authority departments, agencies, groups and individuals. I oversaw and sought funding to create a sustainable inclusive community arts programme to be rolled out over the following three years and beyond. I managed two part-time administrators to ensure the smooth & effective running of the centre. Their roles were to keep track of sales, rents, hire fees and any other income, which I collated for financial planning purposes, for the senior management team and Trustees.While working for CHDT I developed my skills and experience dramatically. I planned and delivered projects in partnership with many exterior youth organisations. My main project was the setting up and managing of a residential project onboard HMS CAVALIER. This project has been running for over four years to great success. I also headed up the team, planning, developing and overseeing the delivery of the education programmes and other funded projects based on science, technology, engineering & maths.I also recruited and co-ordinated the volunteers working alongside the paid staff, consisting of around 250 active volunteers. This side of this role required me to liaise with Department and senior managers who were supported by the volunteers, to ensure that the volunteers understood their role and were trainedaccordingly. This involved working with every member of staff as the child protection officer and as the stand-in duty manager for visitor services. This aspect of my role required me to develop a high understanding of managing our site, excellent communication skills and very good problem solving skills.
