United States Navyonboard CVN 75 (Harry S Truman), a nuclear powered aircraft carrier.I served for six years as a Mechanical Nuclear Operator (3385 NEC) with Reactor Division. I was a Machinist Mate 2nd class, qualified Chief Machinery Operator (a senior, supervisory watch station), and supervised a number of specific programs (Valve Maintenance, Hazardous Material Management, Lube Oil Quality Management, Corrective Maintenance, Log Review) in addition to being the Assistant Leading Petty Officer (ALPO) for my work-center (2 years).As the ALPO, I supervised 39 sailors in the operation, maintenance and repair of the Number 2 Reactor Plant and its associated mechanical systems (electrical generation, propulsion, firefighting, distillation, etc). I participated in disciplinary boards, operational examinations, performance reviews and evaluations during major overhauls and extended periods of normal operation.
